About Echowood
Echowood was started by me, Oscar Pacheco in early 2007 to offer high quality, simple but effective websites, which comply with the web standards. I wanted to provide small businesses with the same high standards that larger companies and design agencies use. By applying this philosophy I am able to ensure that all my websites are technically robust and visually attractive.
With experience in the IT development team of a blue chip company I am able to use my skills and knowledge to provide smaller businesses with secure and technically advanced websites at a reasonable price.
All my web sites are built following the World Wide Web Consortium web standards. The benefits of following these standrds are:
- better search engine results
- Content is accessible to wider range of users and Interent devices
- it ensure the long-term viability of the web site
- faster loading times
- continue to function correctly as browsers evolve, and as new devices come to market
Apps I use
As you can see I try to use open source or freeware apps as much as I can.
- Web browser: Firefox with various extensions.
- Email: Thunderbird getting better all the time.
- RSS reader: Feedreader a nice light weight reader which also handles enclosures.
- Web Editor: Aptana still early days for this app, but I still use it everday.
